Crafting for Crafting Sake

I've tried a new tecnique today. On C&C ages ago they had some craft mesh that they inked and heat embossed. Well, David had given me some off-cuts of some mesh they sell to repair bits on cars and I came across it today, so thought I'd give it a bash. I inked in red and embossed with clear powder, then repeated the process. I'm quite chuffed with the results and as this mesh is cheaper than the crafting alternative I'm off to Halford's on Saturday to get some more. Whoever said that almost anything and everything can be used in crafting wasn't wrong! To use it on a card I added a metal embellishment and fixed it all using red metallic brads (they look 2 shades, but it's only one). The greeting is stamped in red and heat embossed, then mounted onto chipboard with the edges inked in black.

What an excellent idea Sarah and it is lovely. :) Sometimes crafting on a small budget makes you think how to re-use other items not really meant for crafting. Well done. :) :)
