Another Challenge

It's all challenges this week which is good as it gets me crafting and gives me great ideas.

Papertakeweekly has a challenge which I've done and they say:

Be there or be square!
Hi everyone! Another great response last week! Thank you all for joining us again and a warm welcome to all the new faces! This weeks challenge is Squares! Square cards, square patterns or squares on your layout! This weeks challenge is sponsored by Katty at
Skattykats and there are some yummy Prima playmates up for grabs! (Thanks Katty!)

Here's my entry. I must remember to leave them a comment to let them know I've done a card for it. For my card, I used mulberry papers in two shades of green, gardening peel-offs and a peel-off sentiment.

LO

I've actually managed to do a 12x12 LO tonight. I take part in the member's fun challenges on 3C's and Lizzie's latest is again a two-parter. First part is to do a LO of our choice and frame it. We also have to use buttons and spirelli on our LO's and decorate the frame for maximum points. I've done the LO, just have the frame to do this week-end. Then I saw a challenge on scrummystashcafe blog and realised that the two challenges go together so I decided to have a go. Here's what their post said:

Button It!!
Hehe, no I don't mean keep quiet!! Its my (Vanessa) turn to set the challenge this week and I want you to use buttons on your project. I'm turning into a button addict and they are starting to creap into almost every card or layout I do!! So, please join in and let us see how you use your buttons!Put a link to your work in the comments section below or email your image to us (link at the side) and we'll put it in the Scrummy Stash Gallery. You have until 9:00am on Saturday 8th March to get your entry in to us. A winner will be drawn at random the following week who will receive a £10 e-voucher to spend in the
shop. :)

And here's my LO of one of my sister's and I several years ago on holiday in Skegness. I used papers I've had for ages, my Xyron Personal Cutter with the alphabet that came with it and a flower shape from the Garden set for the spirelli, Dress It Up sea shell buttons (in top left corner) from charmed, yellow thread and green buttons (used for the O's) from stash.

As for Lizzie's challenge: I've done the LO and as I've said will be doing a frame this week-end, so that's part one taken care of. Part two is to use 4 pieces of card (any size) and make a Room (screen) Divider which must include Vellum and Embossing. I've done mine, I just need to photograph it which I will do when I photograph the completed framed LO.

Thanks for looking. I need to go and leave a comment on scrummystashcafe to let them know I've taken part in the challenge. Bye for now xxx

Artey Pico

I got this tag from the lovely and talented Ana

Here are my replies:

1. WHAT WERE YOU DOING 10 YEARS AGO?
I was working as an Office Manager in a taxi office and sharing a house with my sister. We used to say we were the female equivalent of 'Men Behaving Badly'. LOL
2. WHAT WERE YOU DOING 1 YEAR AGO?
I was working part-time as a despatch clerk in a taxi company.
3. NAME YOUR 5 FAVOURITE SNACKS
I shouldn't snack, but we all do at times don't we? I like ready salted crisps, bananas, chocolate, fruit gums and if I'm trying to be really healthy I'll munch on celery.
4. NAME 5 THINGS YOU WOULD DO IF YOU WERE A MILLIONAIRE
Buy a home of my own with a good craft room, take my mum on hols, give both of my sister's and my mum some money, go shopping, have corrective eye surgery so I wouldn't need to wear glasses again.
5. NAME 5 THINGS YOU LIKE DOING
Crafting, watching quiz shows, being with family and friends, listening to music, reading.
6. NAME 5 THINGS YOU WOULD NEVER WEAR AGAIN
Glasses if I had the eye surgery, black fishnet tights with white shoes, skinny jeans with hip slung belts, mini-kilts, blouses with frilly collars (can't you tell I grew up in the 80's?).
7. NAME YOUR 5 FAVOURITE TOYS!
Xyron Personal Cutting System, Ellison Tag-A-Long, Computer, Heat Gun, Melanie (a doll I've had since I was 1 and a half. Well, I couldn't leave her out could I?!).

I pass this award to the first 5 people to comment who haven't already got this. I'd love to know more about each of you as I'm nosey, but it says only 5 LOL

I've been awarded

My friend Debbie has given me an award today and I display it on my blog with pride. Thank you so much.

I need to hand it out to 10 people who make my day. This is a toughie as you all make my day. But as I can only give it out 10 times, the first 10 of you (who don't already have this award) to leave me a comment here can claim the award and proudly display it on your blogs.

Mother's Day Crafting

I've been busy crafting for Mother's Day (bet you hadn't guessed that, had you? LOL). My card for her is already on my blog. I had a K & Co Magnetic Pad Set and decide that I would make it and give to her.My mum is my best friend. When we're together we do loads of things including shopping, playing games, ten-pin bowling, having fun and a laugh, so I decided to make mum a tag book. I cut the pages by hand and used a book-ring to hold it together. To decorate it, I used K & Co Bailey Classic 6 x 6 pad, beige ribbon from my stash, Heidi Grace Cherrywood Lane flowers, E-Z rub-ons, flower metal embellishment, doll's house backgammon set (mum and my favourite game and we usually have 'best of 3') and wooden scrabble tiles (kindly given to me).

David had asked me to make a card for him to give my mum. I used papers from shabbyprincess.com, pale green card stock, a flower from Gardeners Delight on my Xyron Personal Cutting System and a peel-off sentiment.
Mum has a little dog called Daisy and this is their first Mother's Day together. Using my Xyron Personal Cutting System, I made this card from Daisy. I stamped inside using paw print and woof mini stamps.

Sneeky Peek - Unveiled

Remember that sneeky peek the other day? Well, it was a birthday card and I had to wait until the recipient had her birthday. She has now so here's it in all it's glory.

I used K & Co Hopscotch Paper pad, red pearlised card for the base and top matting, orange and blue brads, mini-beads for the 21 threaded onto wire that I shaped. To get this effect, I drew a 21 onto a piece of card and bent the wire round on top so I could thread random beads onto it before using more wire to secure it to the card. The envelope was made using a download from shabbyprincess.com lined with K & Co Hopscotch
