Colours of Autumn

As promised in my previous post, here's the reveal of my LO done for Ribbon Mad. It can be seen in their gallery here. Check out the other projects too as they are simply amazing.

I was given the fantastic October 'SPOOKY' kit to work with and this is what I did:

1) I used the orange/black striped ribbon to create a border around the three sides of my photo.

2) By sticking DST to the top of the ladybird ribbon, I was able to pleat it as I stuck it down on the bottom of the photo.

3) I made flowers out of the orange organza and black/orange stitched ribbons, before stitching them together and adding an orange button.

4) I stuck black buttons onto the top corners and inked some *chipboard letters.

* the letters were from my stash, but all other items were from the kit I was given to work with.

Ribbon Mad

I was asked by Emma at Ribbon Mad, to be a Guest Designer for next month to help showcase the October Ribbon Kit. The chance to work with fantastic ribbons? How could a girl say no?

Here's a sneaky peak to my LO.

The full LO will be on display here in a few days. What I can tell you, is that the ribbon at the bottom of the LO is simply gorgeous and my favourite. I'd've been getting the kit just for that! LOL

UKS Dark Challenge

Ok, I'm a little late showing you my entry for this week's weekly challenge on UKScrappers, but hey, better late than never I say.

So, the challenge set by The Norty Crew was:

- Choose a theme about something dark which brightens your life - 10 points

- Use a dark colour scheme to represent DARK- 10 points

- Add a dash of your favourite bling to represent BRIGHT - 5 points

- Use ink somewhere on your LO (eg stamping, doodling or journalling) - 5 points

Black and grey with a little silver

B & W and One Colour Challenge

I've been busy today and have completed some internet challenges.

Over on Dottie's World, Adele set the Sunday challenge this week. Everyone who enters gets a fabulous fairy Dottie.

Adele says:

Right, I will tell you about this week's challenge which is;

Black, white and a splash of .........COLOUR!!!

I want your creations this week to include one or more of the Charmed Download images and to be only 3 main colours. Black, white and one colour of your choice. You can use as many tones of grey and of your chosen colour and you can obviously use a skintone and haircolour ( I am feeling generous! LOL )but that's it.

Here's my card


I watercoloured George (from the Rock & Roll collection available at Charmed) and the background using my brush markers. He's mounted onto black textured, sandy spotted and white photo paper. I covered the base card in the sandy spotted paper and added a piece of black spotty ribbon. I used foam pads to give the image some dimension.

A is for Acetate

Dottie's World challenge this week was set by Nicola. She said:

A is for Acetate with a hint of pink!!

It can be a whole acetate card,an aperture of acetate,an embelishment as long as Acetate is there some where & as October is Breast Cancer awareness month I'd like to see some pink!!!

I stamped some acetate and cut the letters and corners, then stuck them on by using my Xyron 150 sticker maker. I added pink ribbon, Imaginisce blooms, brads and ink round the edge and of course a Dottie and George image. I'm turning this into an A4 birthday postcard for someone next year.

Pick A Letter

The DT on Dottie's World take it in turns to sets a Sunday challenge. This weeks was to use an image from the Dottie/George/Cat collections available from Charmed and to Pick A Letter. We had to use different elements on the card using just the one letter we'd chosen.

The letter I chose was B.

She's holding a Happy Birthday Banner
I've used a Bling Brad on the Banner
I've put four Buttons on the corners of the card
The Buttons, Brad and ladder are Blue
I've used Black Bling gems for Dottie's eyes

Somerset Hols

The weekly challenge on UKS this week is:

In April 1581, the first circumnavigation of the globe was completed – although sadly, Ferdinand Magellan, the man who planned and led the expedition, never saw his goal.

* So … use a map or plan of some kind on your LO = 10pts

* The sailors must have sailed a lot of seas, so for using the colour blue = 5pts

* Use a hand-made embellishment = 5pts

* Use ink on your LO (eg stamped image, inked edges etc) = 5pts

* Use eyelets and/or brads - 5pts

I Googled and printed out a map of the area of Somerset that mum and I travelled while on our hols. I had to print it on 3 pieces of paper and jigsaw it together to get the whole area big enough to see the tiny villages (such as Mark) that we went to and drove through. I then printed out some small photos that I'd taken and grouped them round the map which has hand-drawn scallops round.

As for the challenge:

* Map ~ Somerset = 10 points

* Blue ~ Blue Bazzill card for the background = 5 points

* Handmade embellishments ~ the arrows are hand-cut, doodled on with black brush marker and have stickles (diamond and black) added = 5 points

* Ink ~ a black brush marker which contains ink = 5 points

* Eyelets and/or brads ~ top left corner embellishments are white eyelets = 5 points
