Dottie's Challenge Helps Me Make A Birthday Card

I saw the Sunday challenge on Dottie's blog for which Karen said:

This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge. Now interpret this sketch as you please, there are no rigid rules, just let your imaginations flow. Two simple specifications:

  • Your interpretation must contain at least one of our downloads.
  • I would like to see at least one brad or button.

My cousin's son's birthday is tomorrow and I needed to make him a card today, so raided my George downloads to see if one was right for him. As he's at uni studying to become a scientific teacher, the Teacher George was perfect. I coloured him and the background in using a programme called Paint.net before printing onto photo paper and writing the equation on with a white Sakura pen. I also coloured a box in the same background colour so I would have some for the rest of the card. To assemble this, I used grey mottled card and matted the image and extra yellow piece onto black paper. I cuct a scalloped circle out of the same black, writing on it with the white Sakura pen. I layered the pieces and added black ribbon. I drew scallops around the edge with a black brush marker and added black buttons as required. I just hope he likes it.

Isn't it great how you can personalise George to fit the recipient. I am sure James will love this Sarah. I must have a play with a colouring in programme - it looks so professional.

Excellent card Sarah. I've not used George much until I thought about playing about with paint shop pro. I'm sure James will love the card!
