Twice as Nice

Adele set the weekly Dottie's World challenge on Sunday and said:

Twice as Nice.......

I would like you to use two or more charmed downloads on your creations this week. You can mix and match, duplicate an image, re-size, whatever you fancy but I need to see two or more images.

One of my sisters has a birthday next week, so I decided to make her a tri-fold card. I used 3 images from the Holly and Madison World Tour collection and my Prismacolour pencils.

Holly in Spain is a tag (for One Stop Craft's Tag It challenge). It's held in an acetate pocket edged with ribbon, so it can be used as a bookmark.

The wording inside the card reads "On your birthday and every day, may your dreams take you to the places your heart desires". Wonder where she'll choose?

Thanks for looking.

Christmas and Birthday

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards' Challenge Sketch on Monday was this

So, a Christmas and a Birthday card with it. Here's what I made:

I've made pockets inside this card and popped the green card in there just to show you. At this stage, I have no idea what I'm going to put in them, but I know that I'll come up with something. maybe a stamped and watercoloured image on one side and the wording on the other? A lovely poem perhaps? I'll be sure to show you when I've done it though. And yes, I have noticed the pink ink on the inside! I'm going to use the ink to add a distressed look to the white of the card before I give it away. Mistakes happen for a reason.

Shell's Challenge

Over on 3C's, it was Shell's turn to set the sketch challenge. LO, card and ATC using the sketch and any extras she decided to set. Here's the sketch and what she said.

Layout - For the LO, I want you all to use just 1 piece of cardstock and 2 pieces of patterned paper, nothing else, no stickers, rub ons, ribbon, flowers etc.......everything you use on the LO has to be made using the c/s or pp or both, so any flowers, lettering, fake ribbons, etc must be made from the c/s /pp.

A challenge and a half I thought, but I gave it a go and with one sheet of Bazzill, 2 sheets of Basic Grey, a black Stazon ink pad and a journalling pen, here's what I came up with:

Card- Christmas is coming so for the card I would like you to make a christmas card, you can use anything you like, the more the better, but I would like sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle, glitter, sequins, the more the better.

Here we go then. I used to hate glitter, but thanks to Stickles I'm converted and the whole tree has been coloured in using stickles and gems. Dome sticker says "We wish you a merry Christmas"
ATC - Again anything goes for this, it can be any theme you like and you can use whatever you like. But I would like to see a hidden element on the ATC, something that makes it interactive. This could be a hidden tag that needs to be taken out, a window/ door that needs to be opened etc........
I've created a pocket using acetate and hidden a stamped flower behind it.

And Now For Something a Little Different

My friend Shell on 3C's set the members challenges for us and gave us these last 4 weeks to complete them in.

Here's what she came up with:

Part 1

My challenge to you all is to make a bag out of felt. It can be any size you want ickle or big thats up to you as long as it's made from felt, it also has to be handstitched and have a ribbon handle..........

Extras to include...

Buttons........one or more

one or more felt flowers ( and not a ready made one such as the K&Co kind you can get now )

Also a little pocket on the front of the bag.

POINTS FOR THIS CHALLENGE:
COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE: 25 POINTS
INCLUDING BUTTONS AND FELT FLOWERS: 5 POINTS
FRONT POCKET: 10 POINTS
HANDSTITCHED AND RIBBON HANDLE: 10 POINTS
TOTAL POINTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS CHALLENGE: 50 POINTS

Here's my bag and how I made it:

I designed it to hold my photos that I aim to scrap next as they were previously shoved in a drawer that wasn't really big enough for the large ones.

It's made from 2 pieces of purple felt and one piece of white. I hand-cut the flowers and stitched them on adding a button to the centre of each. The handle is made by using white velvet ribbon and is held by buttons. Once it was all ready I hand-sewed three sides of the bag. Last but not least, I sewed on velcro for a fastening.

Part 2

Seen as how we are all doing 2 challenges my second challenge for you is to make a card. Again it must include felt, a flower which could be the felt part if you wish, buttons and hand stitching.

POINTS FOR THIS CHALLENGE:

COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE: 30 POINTS

ADDING SHELL'S EXTRAS: 10 POINTS

TOTAL AVAILABLE FOR THIS CHALLENGE: 40 POINTS

Here's my card and how it was made:

It's A6 size and was strange working in such a small area as I can't remember the last time I made a card this small.

I've hand-cut the felt flower and hand-stitched on 2 buttons. I doodled the stem and flowers. I hand-cut an H and a B from felt and hand-stitched the detail on them, before glueing down and hand-writing the rest of the words.

Full marks to me I think. Just gotta remember to add them to my total which is growing nicely.
