UKS June 09 Week 1

I've used photos of Alexander Palace for the weekly challenge on UKScrappers this week. We were challenged to:

Use the sketch they p[rovided ~ which I've turned and flipped
Something handmade and acetate ~ I've combined these as I've glued tiny gems onto acetate to form the swirl
RicRak ~ I've used this instead of the journalling strips

PP once again is Basic Grey. At the rate I'm using it, I should have bought two packs of the offer, not one!

Thanks for looking
Take care, love and hugs

one LO

Ok, so I'm not gonna win awards for the most done in one day, but I never said I wanted that LOL

So, the LO. Done for
UKS weekly challenge set by the Rockin Ribbon Raiders. They said:

We decided to keep it quite simple. One of the team designed a sketch for us which will gain you 10 points if you use it.
Our name has 3 words in it so 5 points for a 3 word title.
Use 3 of whatever you use i:e, pics ribons, papers etc 5 points
something or someone inspirational to you 10 points.

So to summarise:
Sundays sketch... 10 points
a 3 word title 5 points
3 of whatever you use i:e papers, ribbons pics etc other than the title 5 points
someone or something inspirational ... 10 points

I chose to use a photo of my niece and eldest nephew as they are so inspirational to me and I'm so proud of the people they've become despite everything they've been through.

Thanks for looking. BTW, I've done my blog-hop, but if I've missed you please let me know. It isn't my intention to miss any of my friends out.

Flower Power

I've done a bit of scrapping this week or so, but wanted to show you one in particular. I'm lucky enough to have an A3 printer so printed the Hippie Dottie (from Charmed) coloured image directly onto 12x12 yellow Bazzill. Once I'd done that I took some photos of my flowers in my garden and cut round them before sticking them down. I added Prima flowers (from Charmed), handmade paper flowers and a few others. I changed her printed bunch of flowers for tiny handmade blooms and added a glass gem to the centre of some. The title is cut out on my Tag-a-Long and I used the Tootsie alphabet. To finish this off, I used diamond stickles on the title and butterflies, black gems for Dottie's eyes and black stickles for the beads on her necklace.

I'm on the look out for a 12x12 box frame now to put this in so I can hang it on my wall.

The rest of my crafting will be on here by the end of the week I hope. I need to go job hunting first.
