SLYMI week 32
Write in white is Shimelle's latest Scrap Like You Mean It challenge on UKScrappers.
Here's my LO. Photo of my youngest sister after we'd been to the Rainbow vegetarian restaurant for her birthday.
The large swirl and thought bubble were templates from UKS members Lucille and Dan and cut on my ROBO. The writing in the thought bubble is "doesn't she realise she's getting wet too?"

Scrap Around The Clock June CyberCrop
Over on Scrap Around The Clock, we're on day two of our week long CyberCrop.
Melody set the first challenge and she's stepped back to 1970 for which I chose to scrap a photo of me taken either very late 1969 or very early 1970. Apologies for the flash on the photo.
Sketch is from Pencillines (#139), PPs are My Mind's Eye Bohemian range and from a mail order craft club I belonged to, pink Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inkpad (used around the edges and on the tag) is from ScrapShed, lace and ribbon from a local haberdashery and the blooms and Stickles from Calico Crafts. The Once Upon A Time title is from elegant word art and I've printed it onto SafMat.

I've set the second challenge and I've gone back to the 1950's to a time that I would have loved to live. The photos I've used are from the birthday party I was given this year. I've made a slight error on the bottom LO, but as I only bought one sheet of each PP, it's gotta stay that way.
Sketch is from ScrapSketch (#90), all the PPs and the pink Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inkpad are from ScrapShed, buttons and white Inkssential pen are from Charmed,

If you're wondering what the criteria is for these challenges and want to join in, hop over to our forum to find out.

It's Easter at Crafty Muse
Well everyone, the latest challenge is up at Crafty Muse and this time, we'd like you to make an Easter project. There's even a couple of freebie images and a PDF file of Easter sentiments for you.

Here's my Easter card, coloured with Prismacolours. I've used an egg that Sammi gave us and one of the sentiments from the PDF file. To complete the card, I added a charm that says 'Live in the Light', some ribbon and stickles.

BASB and Pencillines
I came across a blog the other day (BASB) and thought I'd have a go at the latest challenge. They challenged you to scrap what irks you. So, after a little forgetfullness, I went with what gripes me, but it's the same thing isn't it?

The whole LO was done using the latest Pencillines sketch 123 as inspiration.
So, what is my gripe? This is what I said on the LO:
Here's my LO
and here's a close up of the signs I found on the net (http://www.geckoandfly.com/)

Coffee and Cream
It's been coffee time over at My Time To Craft. They've had a competition running this week which ends at 10pm tonight (Monday 10th November). We had to do some sort of crafting (from quite a wide range they selected) with the theme 'Coffee and Cream'. I chose to do a card and here it is

I coloured in the eyes and mouth using brush markers and added some diamond stickles for sparkle. Cream organza and brown satin ribbon with a cream button completed the card.

Fold Card
I saw some different cards on Adele's blog earlier and they are stunning. Pop over and have a look at hers and the tutorial
~~~~~~~~~~ Not so fast ~~~~~~~~~~
AFTER you've looked at mine of course!!!
Here's my first attempt at one. It won't be my last and I need to make a couple of adjustments next time like - measure more careful to get the folds exactly right. Oh well, I did say it was my first attempt! Image is the pre-coloured Ellie Elephant by Lou and available exclusively from Charmed.
Thanks for looking. Now I'll let you go to Adele's, then Charmed to get your downloads.
Take care.
Ted
First time using these downloads and they're so cool to work with. Created by Debbie, they're available to download here.
I've used Xmas Ted with snowman sleigh to make this card. I was printing some things out onto photo paper and added this one. I forgot I would be colouring it in, but it still worked by watercolouring with my brush markers. I added icicle stickles to the snowflakes, the ground covering of snow and the snowman. Final touch was the blooms.
Shell's Challenge
Over on 3C's, it was Shell's turn to set the sketch challenge. LO, card and ATC using the sketch and any extras she decided to set. Here's the sketch and what she said.
Card- Christmas is coming so for the card I would like you to make a christmas card, you can use anything you like, the more the better, but I would like sparkle, sparkle and more sparkle, glitter, sequins, the more the better.
ATC - Again anything goes for this, it can be any theme you like and you can use whatever you like. But I would like to see a hidden element on the ATC, something that makes it interactive. This could be a hidden tag that needs to be taken out, a window/ door that needs to be opened etc........
Thanks for looking
Love and hugs
Layout - For the LO, I want you all to use just 1 piece of cardstock and 2 pieces of patterned paper, nothing else, no stickers, rub ons, ribbon, flowers etc.......everything you use on the LO has to be made using the c/s or pp or both, so any flowers, lettering, fake ribbons, etc must be made from the c/s /pp.
A challenge and a half I thought, but I gave it a go and with one sheet of Bazzill, 2 sheets of Basic Grey, a black Stazon ink pad and a journalling pen, here's what I came up with:
Here we go then. I used to hate glitter, but thanks to Stickles I'm converted and the whole tree has been coloured in using stickles and gems. Dome sticker says "We wish you a merry Christmas"
I've created a pocket using acetate and hidden a stamped flower behind it.
Love and hugs
Scrummy Stash Cafe
Angie set the challenge on Scrummy Stash Cafe on Saturday and said this:
As usual a £10 e-voucher up for grabs... email a jpeg or leave a link in the comments.We can't wait to see what you all make!"
My Card
I had great fun with this and have added another Christmas card to my slowly growing collection. Thank you for setting the challenge Angie.
I've Found A New Card Challenge Blog
I came across this blog today and it will be perfect to get my bum in gear to save me rushing my Christmas cards next year. The object is to make at least one Christmas and Birthday card each week and they also give you a sketch every Monday.
Well, it worked (sort of) as I used this week's sketch today to make two Christmas cards (no birthday ones I'm afraid). The images are from a sheet of 12 days of Christmas 12x12 paper that I got last year and does not have a manufacturer printed on, so I have no idea where it's from. On the 'five gold rings' I turned the sketch clockwise. The rings and heart have been glittered to add some bling. Well, it is Christmas! The buttons are from Charmed and I absolutely love them.
NOT a Card
Lou set the weekly challenge on Dottie's World this week. She said:
I had a pre-coloured Robin Dottie (available from Charmed) that I'd printed out earlier onto photo paper, so used that. I added green glitter glue to the leaves and diamond Stickles to her tummy. I put red ribbon round the edge and secured it with a red dotty brad. Notches I cut in the side were edged with cinammon Stickles.
I'm aiming to use this (if I make more) as alternative Christmas crackers or I may just use this as a traditional gift box.
"It's my week this week and I fancied a change so here's the challenge;
Make something using a Charmed download but IT CAN'T BE A CARD!"
Make something using a Charmed download but IT CAN'T BE A CARD!"
Ok, thinking cap on. Do I do a LO? No, I fancy doing something else. So, my aim was a one layer exploding box to use as a gift box. I got the layer cut and folded then decided that I didn't want to do that so I cut some more card and made a proper box.
And here it is.
Thanks for looking.
Think Pink
Dottie's World challenge last Sunday was set by Karen. She ws having internet connection problems, so Lou posted for her. This is what she said "Right, this week Karen wants us to go pink pink pink with our cards, she also wants us to add a bit of glam in the form of beads, jewels and/or charms you can use just one or loads it's up to you as long as your main colour is pink and you USE ONE OF THE CHARMED DOWNLOADS."
I've sort of missed the glam part of this challenge, although I did add stickles diamond glitter, so I'm hoping that by adding diamonds that way I've covered the whole challenge. The stickles are on the blades of her boots as well as on the ice and the commas on the word n'ice'
This started out as a Christmas card, but I can't find my Christmas rub-ons, so adapted another rub-on to fit with the card. The 2 patterned papers (striped and squares) came in a pack from a pound shop and I've just edges the squares with a silver metallic marker. Dottie is one of the bonus coloured images in the Christmas download bundle from Charmed that I've printed onto photo paper. Lastly I added a length of pink ribbon and tied it into a bow.
Flower Power
I've done a bit of scrapping this week or so, but wanted to show you one in particular. I'm lucky enough to have an A3 printer so printed the Hippie Dottie (from Charmed) coloured image directly onto 12x12 yellow Bazzill. Once I'd done that I took some photos of my flowers in my garden and cut round them before sticking them down. I added Prima flowers (from Charmed), handmade paper flowers and a few others. I changed her printed bunch of flowers for tiny handmade blooms and added a glass gem to the centre of some. The title is cut out on my Tag-a-Long and I used the Tootsie alphabet. To finish this off, I used diamond stickles on the title and butterflies, black gems for Dottie's eyes and black stickles for the beads on her necklace.
I'm on the look out for a 12x12 box frame now to put this in so I can hang it on my wall.
UKS July 08 Week 4 Challenge
Well, July's nearly over and this week's challenge on UKS was set by The Scrap Pack. Here's what they said:
On this day last year the final Harry Potter book was published - use four of something to symbolise the four Hogwarts houses.
In this week in 2005 Lance Armstrong won his seventh consecutive Tour de France so we'll need you to use some yellow in your layout to represent his winner's jersey.
In 1969 Apollo 11 splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean after it's historic trip to the moon. To symbolise this use space, stars or water in your lo.
...and because we are The Scrap Pack we'll challenge you to use some scraps.
To summarise:
* Four of something - 5 points
* Use yellow - 10 points
* Use water/stars/space theme - 5 points
* Use up some scraps - 10 points
My LO is another for my Somerset Holiday album.
I have used:
* 4 complete sheets of paper from Dovecraft's Abstract Prints 6x6 Pack. Also part of title cut into 4 individual words
* Yellow brad and Yellow chipboard 'S'
* Photo is of the sea at Somerset, so yes I've used water
* I raided my scrap drawers and found some dark red card that I've used for the first part of the title
Full 30 points for me for my team The Ruby Snippers
I added diamond stickles round the title and the chipboard letters and then some sea shell and starfish buttons
