Has it really been 6 and a half weeks since I blogged?!

Well, the answer is YES!!!!!!!!! And it's that long since I did any crafting too.

UKScrappers had a CyberCrop this last week-end and I thought I may try and do one or two of the challenges/classes. I wasn't going to join a team as I didn't want to feel that I HAD to craft if I didn't feel like it, but with less than a week to go, I decided that if I was going to do even one of them, a team may as well benefit from it. Turns out that the team that came second only lost by the points gained from one item. So although that wasn't my team, I was right to join in. We came third by the way.

Turns out that my mojo had been waiting for something like this and came back with avengence. I felt like doing 15 LOs and managed 14 plus I did 4 other (just for fun) challenges. Here's proof:

Challenges (point scorers)

Just for Fun Challenges (one not photographed was to create a glittery title which I did too late for the points and is on my 'The Cottage' LO)

Classes

Saved the worst till last. We had an extra Wicked Witch challenge on Saturday at 8am to upload a photo of ourselves first thing that morning. I'd only just got out of bed and brushed my hair. I (like a lot on there) was still in my PJ's and in need of a cuppa. So, to make you feel grateful that you only see me when I'm alert and mostly in LOs, here I am first thing in the morning!!!

A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved in making this last week-end such a huge success and fun for me. No pressure, but when's the next one?? LOL

all the leaves are brown, and the sky is blue

This is an old post that I realised I had taken off my blog as the LO went for publication in a DOCraft magazine. Well, it's been published now, so I can put the LO back on here.

Here's the original post:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I felt like doing a LO last night and thought I'd see what the bi-monthly challenge was on DoCraft. It's been a few months since I looked on there and I had a job remembering my password! But, I got there and loved what I read, so gave it a go. Set by greenhaze (Alma), this is what she said:
"The challenge is to use autumn colours brown, red, gold any colours that reflect the season.
Leaves.
A photo of your choice to reflect the season.
And nine or twelve buttons in autumn colours"
So, what did I do?
I definately used autumn colours ~ yellows and browns mainly
Skeleton leaves in brown
4 photos I took last month
9 buttons in shades of brown
Challenge met, here's the LO
Title is from the song California Dreamin' by the Mamas and Papas 1966 and printed onto Safmat. Journalling just tells when and where the photos were taken.
Take care
Latest Scrapping
Here's some scrapping I've done for a couple of challenges on UKScrappers
First one was for week 10 of Shimelle's Scrap Like You Mean It challenge and was to scrap a funny photo. I've used a photo of one of the young girls at my sister's hen party a couple of weeks ago. There was a chocolate fountain and she ended up with chocolate over her face and a strawberry hanging out of her mouth.
Second LO is of one of my Ruby Snipper's teamies at Ally Pally last September when we all met for lunch. This week's team challenge was to scrap something we're addicted to, use blue, a flower and song title/lyrics in the LO title. I couldn't think of anything I'm addicted to, but I do keep checking in to UKS to see what my friends have been up to, so went with that. The title is 'Photograph'  by Nickleback and the journalling is some of the lyrics "look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh".
Something New
Crafty Muse have this title for the latest challenge and here's my work:
I've used MillyRose and teddy that I coloured in using a free downloadable programme Paint.net. After importing the coloured image into Word, I added the matting backgrounds and wording and printed it all onto photo paper. This was stuck to a base card and ribbon added with DST.
I was going to appologise for giving you a computer generated card this week, but I've changed my mind. It's done like this mainly because I can hardly see my craft desk and I'm also still quite poorly, but it does show the versatility of downloadable images.
Quick update on me: I caught what the nurse thought was a virus at the end of September, now the docs don't know what it is! I ache all over, I'm unable to get comfortable, I'm sneezing and coughing all the time, feel really lethargic, can't sit at the computer for long at a time and don't feel like crafting (now I know I'm not well!! LOL). I did manage this week's challenge LO on UKS the other day and I've done an ATC for part of Ruth's challenge on 3C's, but that's all. So, until I can get here again take care.
HAPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
Love from me xoxoxox
Catch Up, But No Craft To Show
Sometimes life is a series of hills and mountains that need climbing. After getting (almost) over my virus, I'm jobless!. I never got the one at Cambridge or one they put me in for at Histon. I got asked if I'd like my CV putting forward for one at Papworth, but I can't get there on the bus and don't have daily access to a car. So, here I am waiting to hear if I can get Job Seeker's Allowance and Housing Benefit again. Until then, I'm living off the money I saved from the work I have done this year! I did have details of a job that; if I got it, would have set me up for the next phase of my life. But, after ringing a mobile several times to be told the inbox was full, I found out that they'd had at least 100 people ring and were ploughing through them before opening it up again, if at all! Until a job comes along and inbetween job hunting, I'm free to talk to and see family and friends, catch up with my friends on forums, blog and blog hop and of course craft!!!
After 2 weeks of being mostly indoors, I've been lucky enough to have 3 days out and about where I've taken some Autumn photos. Don't faint, but I've even managed to update my photo blog with some of them.
I spent 2 days/evenings making some Christmas cards this week. One of my sisters had hoped to have a stall at a local fete. She asked if I'd like her to try and sell some of my cards in return for looking after her children while she did it. Of course I said yes. The chance to have some time with my niece and nephews was enough, but it had the added prospect of maybe making a little money. Unfortunately it never happened, so I'm left with quite a few cards looking for homes. My plan B is to see if David's Dad still wants some cards to sell at his church to raise some funds and split the proceeds. Will be good if he says yes, but I have a plan C which is to keep them and add to them over the year and then have a stall myself somewhere.
That's my catch-up. See you here again soon.
Take care, love and hugs
UKS July 08 Week 4 Challenge
Well, July's nearly over and this week's challenge on UKS was set by The Scrap Pack. Here's what they said:
On this day last year the final Harry Potter book was published - use four of something to symbolise the four Hogwarts houses.
In this week in 2005 Lance Armstrong won his seventh consecutive Tour de France so we'll need you to use some yellow in your layout to represent his winner's jersey.
In 1969 Apollo 11 splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean after it's historic trip to the moon. To symbolise this use space, stars or water in your lo.
...and because we are The Scrap Pack we'll challenge you to use some scraps.
To summarise:
* Four of something - 5 points
* Use yellow - 10 points
* Use water/stars/space theme - 5 points
* Use up some scraps - 10 points
My LO is another for my Somerset Holiday album.
I have used:
* 4 complete sheets of paper from Dovecraft's Abstract Prints 6x6 Pack. Also part of title cut into 4 individual words
* Yellow brad and Yellow chipboard 'S'
* Photo is of the sea at Somerset, so yes I've used water
* I raided my scrap drawers and found some dark red card that I've used for the first part of the title
Full 30 points for me for my team The Ruby Snippers
I added diamond stickles round the title and the chipboard letters and then some sea shell and starfish buttons
A Bit of A Bright Sit Down and Tee's Challenge Part 1
Good morning everyone and how are we all? For me it's Monday lunchtime and the sun's been out to warm the air. Yesterday we managed to sit outside and eat lunch (jacket pots, burgers (yes, mine were veggie ones) and salad). It was a chance to try out my new patio furniture and here's one of the chairs.
I did warn you it was a bit of a bright sit down in the title of this post!! LOL One of my sisters is going to see if she can get me a yellow parasol from B & Q while she's out today ~ woohoo!!!!! It'll look so much better than the blue/green floral one we used yesterday.
Aargh............ just had a midgie crawl over the computer screen. Shouldn't complain really cos it probably means Summer's here at last. I just hope they don't get into my craft stash like last year :(
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On Charmed my friend Tee set the challenge for the next 4 weeks. This is what she said:
For my first challange I would like you to do a Scrapbook Layout, it can be any size you wish to do, and either a single or double layout, the choice is yours.

The extra bits are as follows that I would like you to use within your layout.

1. Please use foam on your layout.

2. ribbon to also be used

3. Visible Journaling and please make it more then just a title.and please feel free to add any other embellishments you wish to use.

My take on it is this:
1. I've hand-cut pink funky foam for the title and distressed it using white acrylic paint.
2. I've put a strip of ribbon along the bottom and up the right-hand side.
3. Visible journalling for me was the easy part as I love to do this.
The chipboard arrow is from a Bo Bunny pack and I've painted it with copper acrylic that I've mixed with white. Ive also added white acrylic paint to the paper to layer the photo on
BTW, spot the spelling mistake!!! LOL

Watch this space for my take on part 2. I haven't even started it as she only set these challenges yesterday.
Right, I'm off to get a drink and do some crafting. Catch you all here soon.
