Wedding

Hopefully this is posting on Saturday, as I'm at a wedding and am safe showing you the card I've made for the couple.

The heart and flower have been cut on my ROBO using a template from a very kind lady on UKScrappers, but I never made a not of who. It's meant to be on the edge of a card, but I've used it as a topper. If anyone knows who designed it, please let me know and I'll give them the credit they deserve.

I've also cut the couple's entwined initials from the backing paper.

I found the verse below on this website, that I've used for the inside and printed onto heavy vellum. The word husband in my version actually says man on the site

May you cherish these moments
For all of your life
As you step out together
As husband and wife.
May the vows that you've taken
Remain true and strong
As you start on life's highway
And journey along.

Flip-Flop or Swing!

That's Daring Cardmakers challenge for this week, to make a flip-flop or swing card. I had every intention of combining it with this week's Dottie's World challenge, but messed up, so I'll make another card for that if I get chance.

The image is a pre-coloured Scruff from the Animal Magic digi-stamps by Lou and from Charmed.

Everything else is Sassafras with the wording cut on my ROBO.

SLYMI week 32

Write in white is Shimelle's latest Scrap Like You Mean It challenge on UKScrappers.

Here's my LO. Photo of my youngest sister after we'd been to the Rainbow vegetarian restaurant for her birthday.

The large swirl and thought bubble were templates from UKS members Lucille and Dan and cut on my ROBO. The writing in the thought bubble is "doesn't she realise she's getting wet too?"

Bingo Anyone?

No, it's not a game of Bingo unfortunately, but I have altered a Bingo board I bought on Monday.

To start, I coated all the sides with a mix of brown, white and black acrylic paint and used a crumpled piece of kitchen tissue to sort of stipple it. Then, I added some red ribbon and tied a couple of short strands of brown fibre near the knot.

I used Karen's masking tutorial to stamp the images (Annie collection by Lou and Karen and exclusive to Charmed) onto 260gsm card. Thanks for the instructions Karen, it worked a treat. These were coloured using my Prisma pencils and blending pencil. Not sure what I think to it, but I still haven't made some of the paper stumps. After cutting the images I stuck them down using foam pads. To make sure they stuck well, I added a drop of PVA glue to the side that would be sticking to the paint.

The wording was cut on my ROBO, stuck with PVA and doodled on.

The only sad thing, is that some or all of it will be covered with the paper I clip there reminding me of things 'TO DO'.

Let's Hear It For The Fab Four and A Card Almost Revealed

Last week's challenge on UKScrappers, set by the Norty Crew, was to use

* A Beatles song title - 10pts
** Either black & white or Red,white & blue - 10pts
***Ribbon, a tree or a weaving technique - 10pts

I've used a photo that was taken about 20 years ago. I had taken the son of one of my cousin's to meet up with a child my youngest sister was looking after. We decided to take them to a local park and they kept running off ahead of us, hence the title. The journalling reads "No matter how many times we shouted it, you'd still run off ignoring us!"

So, the challenge:
* I've used 2 songs 'Wait' and 'Slow Down'
** Colour combination was easy as both boys were wearing red, white and blue
*** Nearly forgot the ribbon, so added some around 2 sides of the photo

I reckon that's all parts of the challenge met, so full points for me for my team Ruby Snippers and my house Gold Eyelets. The title was designed on my ROBO, cut 4 times out of 100gsm paper and stuck in layers.

I nearly forgot, I made a card a few weeks ago for a friend of mine and had hidden the sentiment in the corner. I said I'd reveal once she'd received it. Well, she had her birthday yesterday and the card arrived on time which is a miracle for me this year!! But, I can't show you the card in it's entirity as I only saved the hidden version of it!! What am I like???? lol  So, you know who you are HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY. I hope you had a fantastic day.

UKS Weekly Challenge - Laughter

The Scrappin' Gigglers set the latest weekly challenge on UKScrappers and it was to:
1) Scrap a photo that made you giggle/laugh because we are The Scrappin’ Gigglers =10 points
2) Use 5 of an embelli for the 5 Olympic Rings because the games were restarted in April 1896 = 5 points
3) Use something sparkly and/or magical for Paul Daniels’ birthday and our Tanfastic who is always sparkly =10 points
4) Use a title or quote from Oscar Wilde who was arrested on this day in 1895 = 5 points

So how did I manage the challenge? I

1) Scrapped photos of my mum trying to blow up an almost impossible balloon to prove it CAN be done!
2) Used 5 buttons around the top photo
3) Used black glitter glue on the title and circle frame
4) Used a quote ~ Life is too important to be taken seriously

I designed the title on my ROBO, cut it out 4 times and layered it before inking and glittering.
