Scrap Around The Clock June CyberCrop ~ challenge 4

4th challenge on our cybercrop was set by SaraB and she challenged us to:

Create anything that is 80's related and to include:

Bright colours ~ yellow, pink and turquoise
Fabric or ribbon ~ 2 lengths of ribbon near the bottom
Some kind of stitching ~ fake stitching around the main PP and I've stitched the buttons on
Any stamped image or sentiment ~ I've used a corner stamp on the 2 right hand corners
Something relevant to the 80's ~ photos are printed from the net and lift to reveal more journalling relating to them.

I've also followed a sketch by sketchitout, but couldn't remember where I saw it. I couldn't find it on her blog to give credit where credit's due, so e-mailed to ask. I've since found it and it's the current challenge on Creative Scrappers blog ~ Sketch #51. That will teach me to only print the picture and not the details!!

Thanks for looking,

UKS Music ATC's

I recently took part in a music ATC swap on UKScrappers. We had to make 10 ATC's based on .... music!!!!!!!!

I chose to do mine using the song Handbags and Gladrags by Rod Stewart. To do the gladrag image, I opened the Madison Goes To The Ball image (from the Holly and Madison download collection) in Paint.net and coloured her in with a contrasting background before re-sizing and printing onto watercolour paper.

Closer look at one of them

All 10
Each one is slightly different

I hope everyone liked these. I loved receiving my envelope and each one I was given will be treasured. Thanks ladies for all your hard work.

Take care,
Love and hugs

Music

Design X have had a challenge (#47) to do a LO based on MUSIC which ends tonight, so I'm just in time.

The journalling for this starts
"Anyone who knows me, knows how much I like music .............." so for me this was a very easy challenge. I decided to go with the song by John Miles titled simply 'Music' as it sums me up and is one song I've said I want playing at my funeral.

Written In The Stars

I saw a competition on PageMaps blog with a sketch and thought I'd quite like a go at it although I had no plans to submit my entry to try and win. So, what were the rules? They gave you a sketch designed for an 8 1/2 x 11 LO and asked you to convert it to a 12x12 LO, use at least one photo, a title, some journalling and products that were still widely available. Also the winning entry was going to be published in May/June so they wanted LOs suitable for that time of year.

Here's the sketch and my LO

For some reason, I always spell LeAnn wrong and add an 'e' to the end! Photo is of an ex-housemate of mine (Cecelia). The journalling speaks for itself I think.

I used:
Ric-Rak - widely available
Journalling stamp - any journalling stamp with lines will do for this as I had to print it several times to get enough lines. Not sure the one I used is still available.
Brush Markers - also widely available - mine were free with a mail order craft club.
This was also done for the challenge on Scrummy Stash Cafe blog which was to scrap your favourite band/artist/song.

Take care

Friday Sketchers Card Challenge

I came across another card challenge blog this week - Friday Sketchers. The latest challenge on there is to make a card following the sketch provided.

My Card

Close up of Punk George

I water-coloured George (from the Rock & Roll Collection and available from Charmed) using my brush markers before sticking him onto the card with foam pads and adding doodled musical notes and some ribbon. I've distressed the edges of the card plus George's guitar. Well, he is a hard rocking punk after all.
