Blooming Beautiful at Dottie's World

Lou challenged us to create something 'blooming beautiful' on Dottie's World this week and to take inspiration fromm either our own or someone else's garden.

I've used this challenge to make my Mum's retirement card.

I've placed the pre-coloured Holly in the Garden digi-download from Charmed Cards and Craft, onto a photo of daisies from my garden. I faded the photo first, then printed it all onto photo paper. The wording is done using Word's WordArt and has been filled with the original daisy photo before being printed onto SafMat.

UKS Music ATC's

I recently took part in a music ATC swap on UKScrappers. We had to make 10 ATC's based on .... music!!!!!!!!

I chose to do mine using the song Handbags and Gladrags by Rod Stewart. To do the gladrag image, I opened the Madison Goes To The Ball image (from the Holly and Madison download collection) in Paint.net and coloured her in with a contrasting background before re-sizing and printing onto watercolour paper.

Closer look at one of them

All 10
Each one is slightly different

I hope everyone liked these. I loved receiving my envelope and each one I was given will be treasured. Thanks ladies for all your hard work.

Take care,
Love and hugs

Holly and Card Positionings System

I've used the Holly Hipster download with the latest sketch for Card Positionings System. Holly has been coloured using watercolour paints. The sentiment was one of loads I designed and printed when I dabbled in card making a few years ago.

Twice as Nice

Adele set the weekly Dottie's World challenge on Sunday and said:

Twice as Nice.......

I would like you to use two or more charmed downloads on your creations this week. You can mix and match, duplicate an image, re-size, whatever you fancy but I need to see two or more images.

One of my sisters has a birthday next week, so I decided to make her a tri-fold card. I used 3 images from the Holly and Madison World Tour collection and my Prismacolour pencils.

Holly in Spain is a tag (for One Stop Craft's Tag It challenge). It's held in an acetate pocket edged with ribbon, so it can be used as a bookmark.

The wording inside the card reads "On your birthday and every day, may your dreams take you to the places your heart desires". Wonder where she'll choose?

Sketch Saturday

One of my friends has moved home and I've made a card to send to her. She's an Elvis fan and this image from the Dottie & George Rock & Roll collection is perfect. I coloured it in using my watercolour paints as usual and used the latest sketch from SKETCH SATURDAY.

I then found out today that my Great-Aunt is 80 tomorrow, so I had an unexpcted card to make. She doesn't seem 80, so I decided to go for a youthful looking card using a Holly download also from Charmed and coloured it using my watercolour paints. I used the same sketch as I did for the Elvis card above.

Five In One Challenge Card

Once you start making a card, it's surprising how many challenges it sometimes ends up being suitable for.

I made a card last night (Sunday) and used the sketch from the JUST CHRISTMAS AND BIRTHDAYS blog, after turning it round. I'd already coloured the Holly image in using watercolour paints and realised it fitted with PAPERTAKE WEEKLY's pink/orange/brown, MY TIME TO CRAFT's hat and adding the right sentiment meant that it fitted with ONE STOP CRAFT CHALLENGE's sorry challenge. After photographing it, I also found that I'd completed DOTTIE'S WORLD's get the feeling as I'd used ribbon and velvet brads.

I'm late uploading it for some of the challenges, but never mind. I made it because I wanted to, adding in the challenges was a bonus. The Holly image is available for download as part of a collection exclusively from Charmed. While you're there, look out for the latest utterly amazing collection ~ Holly and Madison's World Tour.

Inspire Me!

I was at my youngest sister's yesterday waiting for a delivery for her and her husband-to-be and spent the morning happily colouring in some of Lou's amazing images that I'd printed onto watercolour paper. It's amazing the difference that the correct paper makes. I must get some more paper as I've run out of it now. Still, I have plenty of images to keep me going and some still need to be coloured. I've used one of those images for this weeks challenge on Dottie's World.

Juliet set the challenge on Sunday and gave us this photo saying:

"You can take whatever you like from the photograph: you could focus on the colours, use a cupcake on your work or make a cupcake shaped card - it's up to you. You must include one of the Charmed downloads on your project and please tell us how the photo inspired you in your make ... "

I took the colours and made a card using one of the new Holly and Madison downloads that I've watercoloured using watercolour paints. When I cut a large flower in half  it reminded me of the chocolate colured icing on the cakes. I was horrified when Mellie said she'd cut a flower ages ago, but now I know why. In doing so, we get to use the flower twice which is a great bonus!!

Friday Sketchers and Madison

I've used the current sketch on the Friday Sketchers Blog along with a Madison download from the Holly & Madison collection to make this card. Thanks to a few hints and tips by Lou in the Let's Get Crafting Watercolour magazine, I've been able to get a skintone which I've found hard to master before. Thanks for that Lou.

New Downloads

I'm a little late with the sketch challenge, but here's my take on last week's Papertake Weekly sketch using a download from the new Holly & Madison collection which I've watercoloured using watercolour paints.
