Me at 40

I went to a crop in April and this was the class we took. I had the opportunity to use Bazzil InStitches for the first time too.
Thanks Steph.

One Little Word #56 ~ WHY

One Little Word's challenge this week is the word 'WHY'. This got me thinking deep and hard. Journalling is not 'pre-sorted' IYKWIM? I've journalled as I thought and laid a tiny piece of me onto paper. Photo was taken about 20 years ago when I lived with my parents. I was looking out of my bedroom window at the time.

Look Deep

The weekly team challenge on UKScrappers was set by The Sizzling Hot Scrappers and they challenged us to:

Use the colour emerald
Use some bling
Get some movement into our LO
Use journalling in the form of a poem (whole or a line)

I've used an (emerald) green glitter gel pen in my ROBO to print my poem and a green brad
Glitter is in the ink for the bling
I've threaded beads and hung them from a brad for the movement
I've used an extract from the poem 'Me and Laughter, Together Always' by Nyoka Mitchell

So, full points for my team once again

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some people have said I'm brave to do LOs  of myself. I'm not brave, I'm preserving my memories. Who else is going to be able to really say much about me? And isn't that what scrapbooking is all about? Preserving memories ~ ALL memories? So, if you're a scrapbooker, dig out those photos of you and get sticking.
Girls About Town
My ultra talented friend Lou has amazed me once again and left me speechless for more than one reason. She's the creator and designer of Dottie, George and their animal friends. These and the new collection are available for download exclusively on Charmed.
Well, a new collection has become available and it is so different from the rest. Called 'Girls About Town' you really do need to check it out. Being downloadable (as are all her images), unlike stamps you get it in as many sizes as you want and that your printer will allow. I have an A3 printer, so that's one very large image if I want! Hmmm............... maybe not, or maybe?????? You get girls in b&w plus coloured in and backgrounds and sentiments. A huge bundle for a small price.
There's 6 girls named in this bundle and I was gobsmacked when Lou contacted me today to say that the Sarah ones (yes, there's 2 of them!) were named after me. I just wish I looked that gorgeous with the long legs and such LOL A huge thank you to Lou for that honour and I hope I haven't put off potential customers with that information. Here I am in the pre-coloured format I look fantastic, even if I do say so myself :D Love ya heaps for this Lou.
Thanks for looking. Don't forget to head off and get your downloads now (after you've left me a comment so I know you've visited of course! LOL).
Take care,
Love and hugs
Sometimes ...
If you're a scrapper or card maker and doing something 'just because', which usually comes first with you? The papers? The images? The wording? Or something else?
Wednesday evening I was sorting out some of my photos and saw one of me! Yes, it was scary, but all of a sudden a word popped into my head followed by a sentence which became the title and first line of the journalling for the LO I then did.
Sometimes ... You've just have to step into the beauty parlour of Jo-Jo's and let her do her stuff.
My friend Jo-Jo always wanted to be a beautician, but for one reason and another never persued her dream, so I'm her very willing volunteer. Well, who'd say no to freebie pampering? We haven't done that in ages which is a shame as we have such a laugh at the same time. This is one of the photos she took after one of those sessions last year. By the end of it, we couldnt stop laughing especially as her son got in on the act in front of the camera.
So, here's the LO and another for the 'book of me'.
I used white Bazzill for the base and the patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Bohemian paper pack. Hand doodling on the left, Green Tara blooms and a Third Coast stamp mounted on foam pads completes the simple LO. Lettering is done using Ellison's Chunkidelic alphabet. The doodling took the longest as it's easy to over-doodle which I hope I've managed to avoid.
Thank you for looking.
Love and hugs to you all
This is me
To all those (you know who you are) that said I should get a blog, I have! Now you're going to see just how exciting my life is.
I'm British and we Brits are obsessed with the weather, so the forecast for today is dull and grey, but the sun's trying to break through. As I'm not going anywhere, I'm not too bothered except that it's so cold.
I'm crafting later today. I have 12 Christmas cards to make for my ex's Nana. Shouldn't be too hard as she wants 4" square ones with matting and layering and a picture topper. Need to make matching envelopes too and must print the backs and insides before I get crafting.
Will be back soon with more I'm sure. Until then, take care and if it's cold where you are, wrap up warm.
Luv and hugs from me to you xxx
