Creative Scrappers #60 and UKScrappers July 09 week 3

I've used Creative Scrappers sketch #60 to help my do the current UKScrappers team weekly challenge.

Set by the Blooming Pages, they challenged us to use:

A love theme ~ you've gotta love yourself
Pearls ~ 2 pearl brads
Something re-cycled ~ rope came from some storage thingy ages ago and I've added blue ink to the top of it.

Journalling reads "before others see the real you and can truly love you too. I'm working on it."

Thanks for looking

Spotty Dottie

Karen set the Sunday challenge on Dottie's World titled 'Spotty Dottie' and said:

No I am not asking for a pubescent Dotty in need of a tube of Clearasil, but I would like to see some spots. Yep, today I am setting the challenge here on Dottie's World, and this is what I would like you to do:

SPOTTY DOTTIE

I want to see SPOTS. It doesn't have to be Dottie, you can of course use any of the downloads. BUT I don't just want to see a circle or two.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, what did I do? This:
In a Word document, I took Dottie and George from the Love and Marriage collection and the stage from the Christmas Collection and overlapped them before printing it as a whole picture onto safmat. I mounted this onto white cardstock, inked the edges and matted it onto some PP. I made the wording using Word Art and printed on SafMat, mounted on white cardstock and inked the edges. I covered a piece of white card in dotty paper, added 2 dotty brads and some ribbon. The main image and words are mounted using foam pads.
So, the dotty elements are: dotty background, dotty brads and George going dotty over Dottie.
Thanks for looking.
Love Is ............. Dottie and George
Love most certainly is Dottie and George. And that is the theme to this week's challenge on Dottie's Wonderful World set by Juliet. Here's what she said:
"This week, I'd like you to create something on the theme 'Love is......' and I would like to see a message or journalling on the FRONT of your card. As usual, you must include one of the Dottie downloads too and we are all really looking forward to seeing your fabulous creations."
So, heres my creation (images available from Charmed and are from the love and marriage collection):
Inside
Front showing acetate aperture that I've drawn a scallop border around
I've used SafMat for the wording and front image and I've used photo paper for the inside image. The hearts are holagraphic stickers that I've drawn scalloop borders round.
Thanks for looking. Take care, love
Hello
Hi everyone, I am still about. Quick catch up on me, then I'll bore you all with my crafting.
I had 2 weeks work at Ely Cathedral and had such long days I was shattered. Then, after a week-end away when I went to the Scrapbook Show at Ally Pally, I came down with a viral infection, so I've been off work for nearly 2 weeks. I'm still not fully recovered, but I'm getting there. Due to that and the fact that I temp, my job had to be given to someone else. I'm now waiting to hear if I have a job at one of the colleges in Cambridge starting Monday and going until Christmas. It'll mean very long days, so don't expect much on here if that happens :(
Well, that's me. Now my craft. To start with, here's the stash I bought at AP
My niece ~ QUEEN OF THE CASTLE
My eldest nephew's birthday card
My youngest nephew
My new patio furniture
My youngest sister and her O/H one month after getting together
25th Wedding Anniversary Card
Love as always, Sarah xxx
Dottie's Been Tagged
Over on Dottie's World last Sunday (24th August), Adele set the Sunday challenge. Although I'm posting very early Sunday morning (3:30amish to be precise), I'm still officially on Saturday as I haven't been to bed yet. So, technically speaking, I'm still in time for this challenge :D LOL
Adele said:
This week I want to see a tag or tags of any shape or size. It could be tag shape toppers, gift tags, tag books....and because hubby and me have just celebrated our wedding anniversary....for an extra Dottie bonus I would love to see some hearts and flowers too!!!
My card is a 25th wedding anniversary acceptance card as I needed to get one to the couple by Wednesday 3rd September! Something else I've left until the last minute! I've used one of the fab pre-coloured images from the love and marriage collection and printed it onto Safmat. For the hearts, I used Papermania paper and the flowers (red and pink) are from Calico Crafts. I cut the card in the shape of a tag and added ribbon to the top of the front. I've also stamped a 'thank you' tag and added narrow ribbon to that too.
Challenge completed and as long as I get it in the post now, I can go to the ball.
The End Of The Week
Thought I'd pop on and say hi to you all tonight. I've no crafting to show you as it's all 'a work in progress', so this is a little update on the happenings of the real me as opposed to the crafty me.
I've been and had my hair cut and coloured today. Haven't got a piccie to show you, but will get one taken soon. My sister usually does it, but she's within a day of having her new baby (tell you about that in a mo) and needed the rest. So, after being inspired by the BBC3 programme Spendaholics, I did a ring around and found a salon that does FREE cut and blow dry's and half price colours with a junior stylist. My stylist was fab. No-one would think she was a junior. I felt truly pampered and was even offered a glass of wine. Couldn't have it though as I was driving home afterwards. Something to remember for another time - get me a chauffeur so I can have a glass.
My sister (not the one in Birmingham on the course), is 39 and a half weeks pregnant as I write this. She's been told her baby's looking a little large, so she's going in to hospital this Friday evening to be induced. I'm going to stay at hers to be with her other 2 while she and her partner are busy. Wonder if any of us'll get any sleep? So, I should have a new nephew or niece over the week-end. Will blog and let you all know when I know. I've bought craft things in blue and pink, so I'm prepared for whichever she has LOL
Thank you all for popping by so regularly and listening to the news and antics of this mad crafter. I try to reply to as many of you as I can, but some of you have your e-mail addy's kept secret which means I can't. I totally understand your reasons for that, but I just wanted you all to know that I greatly appreciate each and every comment you leave me and for taking time out from your busy schedules to read my blog. Next post I should have baby news to bore you all with! Hope you are all well and have a great week-end. xxx
