War of the Worlds

Well, after all those months of waiting, I've been to see the stage show of It was so fantastic. If you are going to see it, stop reading now, but if you aren't here's some more piccies. They're not too good as I had a really tall guy in front of me and David's view wasn't that good sometimes either. BUT I would not have missed it for anything.

The eye had images of the audience beamed through it before the show and in the interval.
That really is the great and fantastic Jeff Wayne in the black t-shirt in the middle. It was so amazing watching him conducting it all. Top marks to the orchestra too. I was in awe of their talents.
The special effects, scenery and lighting were truly amazing.
A huge thanks and appreciation for the talented people who work so hard behind the scenes.

My New hair

For any of you who wanted to know what my new hairstyly looks like, here it is. It doesn't show the red as it didn't come out very bright, but it does show in the light.

It's Friday!!!

It's Friday which means I'm off to see

stage show at Birmingham tonight. Tickets have been booked for 48 weeks and counting. Have you guessed I'm looking forward to it?
Had my hair cut and coloured on Wednesday by my hairdresser sister. The style's a bit different (choppy I think you'd call it) and the colour's not as dramatic as we thought it would be, but I like it. Haven't got an updated piccie yet.

Have been doing a little crafting this week. Had a play around with a couple of new card templates - K-Card and Spring Card. Need to perfect the K-Card, but I love the look of them both. Have also made another curvy card ready to give my sister for Christmas. She said she's expecting different and amazing and until
Lou released this, I was getting worried. Once again, I need to get my camera out in daylight. I've altered the front of Lucy's Christening card and will post that on here too.

I have a busy week-end as I'm out tonight. Leaving at midday as we're meeting my little sis who's in Birmingham studying. Going to McD's with her to have tea. Saturday evening I'm going to Mum's to stay the night. Sunday morning Mum and I are off to church for Lucy's Christening. Don't know if they're doing lunch afterwards, but if not we're going to find somewhere to eat. Next Thursday I get to go Christmas shopping. No, not for my bits, but to drive Mum and do her carrying. I guess if I see anything I'll pick it up. Still waiting for David to re-schedule his day off so we can go and do ours, as he had to work this Thursday instead of being off.

That's my offerings for now. Talk to you all tomorrow. Get ready to hear all about

Bit Late, But Here's Monday

I went to an appointment to see if I could get JobSeeker's allowance. Looks like I can which will be great. A job would be better, but this will help in the mean time.

While I was out, I got Lucy's present for Sunday. I changed my mind about the locket. I realised that one suitable for her at her young age would be too small and so the photos would have to be tiny. Decided to get her a gold cross instead. The picture doesn't do it justice as it's much nicer IRL. The sides are beveled which gives it a lovely shape. I hope she likes it.

Went shopping for a couple of craft items afterwards. I managed to get some Christian metal charms, so I'm going to put one on the front of Lucy's card. Will upload a new piccie when it's done. Also, I found some nice Christmas metal charms which I couldn't resist. I'm sure they'll come in handy. Who needs an excuse to buy stash?

Christening Card

Hi everyone,

Just a quickie for now, will be back later with more.

I have made the card for my soon-to-be Goddaughter's christening. Thought I'd give you guys/gals a look. I did say that the curvy Christmas card wouldn't be the last one I did, didn't I?

The striped paper and embellishment's are downloaded from scrapgirls and I can't remember where the purple paper's from. The embellishment's are stuck onto chipboard and I've added ribbon through the slits. The lettering is printed onto vellum and stuck using my trusty Xyron 150.

Lou's Curvy Card Competition

The fab Lou came up with a very novel, interesting and hugely popular card design. After great interest, she shared the template and instructions and they were available for FREE download. Unfortunately for anyone who hasn't already got it, you are going to have to wait a while as a company has snapped it up and will be marketing a template some time. So popular was this design with her fellow crafters (myself include), that she ran a competition for people to make one of these cards.

Here's my offering which I made this morning. I used green and silver gliteer paper, a die-cut Father Christmas, red ribbon, green brads and stuck silver snowflakes on with foam pads. I follwed her instructions to the letter and it was much easier to do than it looked.

Thank you so much
Lou for this new and fantastic design. This may be the first card I've made like it, but I know it won't be my last.

3C's Card Sketch Competition

Managed to get some of my crafting done this morning. Here's one of the cards I made:

Over on the fab 3C's forum, Karen set us the task of doing something with a sketch. The only other stipulations were to use ribbon and chipboard.

I made gold ribbon into sticky ribbon using my Xyron 150. I cut a piece of chipboard and coloured the top and sides using a gold ink pad. I then stamped a dark red Christmas greeting onto it and heat embossed it all using clear powder. I made 3 tags from patterned gold card, wrote a word on the back of each "Love", "Health" and "Family" and added gold fibre.

The red card is cut in half and stuck to the base card, leaving slits for the tags to pop into. As a final touch, I added gold star gems along the ribbon. The photo doesn't do it justice (they never do!) as all the card is self-colour embossed. The red has ribbon bows on and the gold has patterned circles and swirls on.

Happy Fridays

Would you believe Friday's here already? I've realised that Wednesday and Thursday have disappeared according to the world of Sarah C's Ramblings. So, what happened to them?

Wednesday passed in a blur. Was supposed to be going for a Job Seeker's appointment, but it's now on Monday morning. Not much happened apart from that, so that's Wednesday. Told you my life's exciting!

Thursday, what happened Thursday? Oh yep, I remember. Went for lunch and the afternoon to my friend's. Was really looking forward to it as we haven't seen each other for 6 weeks. Gosh how time flies. Catching up on everything was brilliant and we think we've put 'the world according to men' right again. Needs doing occasionally. I went there feeling a bit bleurgh, but after lots of cuddles from her 19month old, I left feeling much happier. He's the only child I know who can put his hand in a dog's mouth and not worry about it getting bitten off. He uses that method as we'd use a lead. It's a case of hand in mouth and follow me. Scary stuff usually and I'm hoping that nothing happens to make the dog change temperment as it would be quite nasty if he did. But they play so happily together with lots of giggles from the little man.

Had to brave Tesco in the evening and was surprised to find it wasn't very busy. 18:30 at the till and there was a cashier waiting for us. Can't be bad. As I'd fallen asleep Wednesday evening for a couple of hours, I woke at 11pm and was awake all day until I fell asleep at about 11pm last night. Woke today at 4:45 which means I've actually had nearly 6 hours sleep. Can't wait to be normal and sleep properly.

If you're looking for me today and can't find me on the 3C's site, I'll be hidden in amongst my craft goodies. There's a couple of card competitions I want to enter and the closing date for them is today. *Note to self - pull your finger out (ouch!) and get a move on. You may come last, but it won't be official.

Will be back with piccies later today.
Luv n hugs to all xxx
